	Free Meal for all Promotion I am pleased to inform you that the school is involved in the Million Meals campaign again this year and all students will be entitled to receive one free meal in accordance with the timetable detailed below: Thursday 4^th February: Year 10 students Monday 8^th February: Year 7 students Tuesday 9^th February: Year 8 students Wednesday 10^th February: Year 9 students Thursday 11^th February: Year 11 students If students are out of school on a visit on their free meal day, they will be entitled to claim a free packed lunch by prior arrangement with the kitchen. Students who are normally entitled to a free school meal will receive their normal entitlement.

	Birches Head Learning Gateway
	At Birches Head we now have a VLE this stands for Virtual Learning Environment. This is essentially a way of delivering online learning via the Internet to home and school alike. The internet is the gateway to the world, so the VLE can be used any where there is a computer with internet connection. In accordance we have called our VLE Birches Head Learning Gateway.
