Following detailed consideration of the future vision for the school, BHHS is exploring the option of becoming an academy school.
We will be consulting with all stakeholders, including staff, students, parents, the community and partner schools and organisations on whether we should convert to an Academy.
As a school judged ‘GOOD’ by Ofsted with ‘OUTSTANDING’ partnership working we are looking at converting into a ‘co-operative model’ academy. This means that there will be no school sponsor.
However, we will build on our current status as a co-operative foundation trust school working with our partners and members.
The increased freedom and funding from being a co-operative model academy would mean greater flexibility to meet the needs of students and stakeholders whilst maintaining our commitment to our community at our core.
We will be able to build on our existing relationships with Staffordshire University,
Stoke-on-Trent Sixth Form College, Partners in Creative Learning and our local primary schools and special school as well as to forge new partnerships and create a truly personalised and unique learning experience for current and future students
