Most people accept that students today need to adapt to a rapidly changing world. But how do students become self-directed and motivated learners? How do they learn to solve problems, look at issues in new ways, authentically practise the knowledge and skills that teachers try to pass on?
All students have talents and need the opportunity to develop them to the fullest potential; Action Team projects set the stage for that development. By taking ownership of a project from start to finish and sharing what they’ve done with others, students often accomplish more than they dreamed possible. They may even discover abilities they didn’t know they had.
