Online Reporting To Parents – Birches Head Learning Gateway

We believe that online reporting can improve how we share information with parents and help them support their child: recent national research shows that parental engagement is a decisive factor in improving learner achievement at any age.  We are also responding to a Government directive to provide “online reporting” to parents.

Over 400 Birches Head High parents have already enrolled and been given their login details.

What information can I see?

You can see your child’s core details, their session attendance (i.e. morning and afternoon registration), their achievements and any behaviour incidents so far this year, plus key academic indicators.

Can I see whether my child has arrived safely at school?
“Yes” you can see your child’s attendance marks as soon as the register is taken in every lesson through the school day.

Is the information secure?
Data security is of paramount importance to us. You can only access the parent’s site via a secure user name and password. In most cases, both parents are entitled to view their child’s information and we can issue individual login details to each parent. If you have legal guardianship of a child (e.g. foster parent, grandparent who has full time care of a child, step-parent with day to day parental responsibility) you will also be entitled to access.

So how do I get access?
We are inviting parents to sign up via the BHHS website.  If you missed the initial invitation, you simply need to fill in a request form.   Please click here to access the application form.

Will this replace printed reports?
We will continue to produce printed reports, send emails, text and all our normal communication methods.  If, as we hope, SLG proves to genuinely useful and more effective than traditional reports, then we will offer parents the option to stop receiving printed reports.
