Birches Head Academy has a dedicated Primary Enrichment Programme. This involves staff from a range of subject areas visiting local primary schools, or inviting schools in to work with us on a range of projects, workshops and bespoke lessons.
This year’s programme includes classes in Art, Music and Science, masterclasses in Maths and English, and ceramics in partnership with Emma Bridgewater, including a factory tour. Year 6 students who gain a place at our school attend 3 Transition Days in summer term to prepare them for secondary school life, and will also receive a visit in their primary school from our Transition Co-ordinator or a member of the year 7 team.
At the start of each new academic year in September, new year 7 students have their own dedicated induction day to help them feel comfortable and confident about embarking on their secondary education with us.
THE YEAR 7 PARENTS OPEN EVENING IS ON WEDNESDAY 25th SEPTEMBER 2019 (5pm-7pm)
For more information, please contact Mr Lambert, Transition Co-ordinator.
