Dear Parent / Carer
As you will know, your child sat GCSE exams in both English and Maths in November last year. The results of these exams and their mock examinations will be made available to students during the afternoon of Monday, 17th January 2011. To ensure we can provide results to each Y11 student with a minimum of disruption to the rest of the school, we aim to allow them to collect results at 2.10pm and then leave school slightly earlier than usual at around 2.30pm.
I’m sure you and your child will be keen to discuss the results, establish what the next steps are or find out what can be done to support them in their final months. For this reason at 5pm on Monday, 17th January there will be an opportunity to visit the school (with your child if possible) to attend three brief workshops where full information will be provided and you will have ample opportunity to ask any questions of
relevant staff.
Overview – Monday, 17th January 2011
• 2.10 – 2.30pm: Students receive results and leave school premises at 2:30pm
• 5pm – 6pm: Three 20 minute workshops in which results will be discussed, clear next steps will be
outlined and ways that you can support your child will be suggested.
If you wish to attend please complete the slip attached and return it to the school’s main reception by Friday, 14th January.

We would also like to offer achievement and progress meetings with some Year 11 students and their parents on an individual basis with senior staff and we will be contacting you to arrange appointments. If you would like to be included please let us know.
