Sports Leaders Become Adistars!

Last week 6 of our year 9 and 10 sports leaders decided to apply to become Adistar Ambassadors. This is a National Program with the Youth Sports Trust, designed to recognise the achievements of the best young leaders within the country and help them to develop their skills further through training and added opportunities. The students all had to complete a difficult application process highlighting all of their achievements so far in leadership and outlining their own skills and qualities as a sports leader.

The students put a great amount of effort into the application process and really impressed, so much so that all 6 leaders have been chosen to become Adistar Ambassadors for the Stoke North Sports Partnership. The skills which this role requires are:

Essential requirements for an AdiStars Young Ambassador
Ability to influence and inspire other young people in their school
Ability to generate ideas to increase participation in their school
Ability to show initiative and take responsibility
Ability to portray a positive image and be a good role model to young people
Desirable requirements for an AdiStars Young Ambassador
Contributes to the wider school community
A confident speaker

All the sports leaders in question have demonstrated all of these skills during their work in  the local primary schools and during the application process. We are all very proud of these students and the great work they have been doing within the local primary schools.

The leaders are as follows, Emillie Corden, Hayleigh Rathbone, Rosie Harding, Molly Adamson , Mikaela Cobby, Laura-Jo Simcock and Lauren Dyche who has been doing great work at Hamilton Infant School but did not apply for the Adistar Program.
