TILT AGM Announcement

At the meeting of the TILT Trust Board on 29^th June, the decision was taken to postpone the TILT AGM until Wednesday 20 March 2013.

This decision was made to accommodate the requirement for Trustees to sign off the Company Accounts and Trustees Report at the AGM.  The company accounting period for Companies House was changed to match the accounting period required by the Charity Commission.  Both sets of accounts now run from 1^st September to 31^st August and as such, the next Trustee’s Report and Accounts to 31^st August 2012 will not be ready for Trustees to agree until much later in the year.

The proposed AGM on Wednesday 20 March 2013 will take place after the TILT Awards Evening at 5.15pm.

So, what is a Trust School?
In essence, a Trust School is a Foundation School supported by an acquired charitable foundation (the Trust) and remains part of the Local Authority (LA) system. The Trust is made up of a group of Partners that support the school with skills and expertise. The assets of the school would be held in the charitable Trust but the Trust does not “own” the school. The responsibility for running the school continues to be the responsibility of the school’s Governing Body and the Headteacher.
