Staffordshire Schools Rugby Festival

Congratulations to the Year 8 Boys Rugby team who celebrated success with 4 recent wins.
The team, as in previous years were invited to field a team competing against other schools in Staffordshire. The festival is the premier event in the schools Rugby calendar as it pits us against schools from across two counties.

The morning’s play was hampered by the inclement weather, however as the weather improved, so did the Rugby! In the afternoon teams were placed into groups. The boys showed courage, grit and teamwork to come joint top of their group. They won 4 matches and came from behind in a tough match against Bloxwich Academy to earn a well fought draw.

The boys’ success was celebrated in assembly with Ms Dixon handing out their winners’ certificates. The school would like to thank Staffordshire Schools RFU and Willenhall Rugby Club for hosting the event. Well done boys, keep up the good work!

If anyone is interested in Rugby please speak to Mr Kumar or Mr Jenkins. Rugby Club for all years is held after school on Thursdays till 4pm. All abilities and students welcome.
